DLS-Organisation

Law Faculty of the Heinrich Heine University of Düsseldorf

Since its founding in 1992, the Law Faculty of the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf has ranked as one of the top teaching and research institutions in the country, according to the Zeit/CHE rankings. The business-law oriented faculty networks extensively with the numerous courts, businesses, administrative agencies, and law firms in an area with the highest concentration of lawyers in Germany. This leads to an outstanding teacher-student ratio, the ability to teach advanced topics in business law, and a close relationship to practice.

The modern faculty buildings are located on the campus of the Heinrich Heine University and are easy to reach by public transportation.

Düsseldorf Law School (DLS)

The DLS is the umbrella organization for the faculty’s continuing education activities. The core of the DLS is composed of the research centers and institutes at the Faculty of Law which are responsible for programming and curriculum. In addition to LL.M programs in intellectual property (since 2001), information law (since 2004) and medicine law (since 2007), which together have an enrollment of approximately 75, the DLS also offers many German and English language certification programs, lecture series, workshops, and special continuing-education seminars on business topics.

Judges also participate in DLS courses as part of judicial continuing-education programs.
